I hope everyone had a great Easter! The weather here Easter Sunday was pretty nasty. In our area we received close to 4 inches of rain over the weekend. Needless to say, the area I live in is flood prone, and this time is no different. I live near a river, and boy was that sucker over flowing!!! Fortunately, roads weren't affected too much, at least not yet. News stations around the area said the threat of flooding should be over by late this afternoon, however that has been extended for a couple of days due to the extensive swelling of the rivers and ponds. Ozark, Alabama had a more severe problem with flooding and several roads were closed today because they were just plain not crossable, many houses and businesses suffered severe water damage. The bad news is that Thursday and Friday we are expecting more rain and thunderstorms, so this flood threat may not be over for us for awhile. It's been about six years since we have had a major problem with flooding, I pray this will not be a repeat of what happened back then. It brought tears to my eyes to see the many houses and land covered with water, not to mention made getting anywhere quite difficult due to the road closures. Pray that this area will be spared, please.
